Nanhai College, South China Normal University

 

Nanhai College is one of three campuses of South China Normal University (SCNU), which was established in 1933 and is one of the most recognised universities in Guangdong province, PRC. The University is a key university of the national "211 Project" and is renowned for highly-qualified teacher training.

Nanhai College was established in 2000 and covers more than 320,000 square metres in the Nanhai Information and Technology Park of Shishan Science & Technology Development Zone in Nanhai District, Foshan City.

The College has excellent facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, a library, gymnasium, ground track and field, natatorium and student centre. The elegant and modern buildings are set against a natural backdrop of lakes and mountains, creating an ideal place for students to live and study.

At the end of 2001, RMIT University established the Diploma of Business course in Guangdong Province through partnership with Nanhai College, SCNU. The Business course consists of eight business units, which are supported by Australian teaching materials, English lessons conducted by experienced professors and study guidance from Chinese coordinators. The program offers an efficient and effective pathway for students wanting to study in Australia, with students who successfully pass the exam able to enter a second-year of study at RMIT University in Australia.

Studying at Nanhai College gives students the opportunity to acquaint themselves with Australian culture, teaching methods and studying styles. It also allows them to establish a solid English language foundation before embarking on travel to Australia or other English speaking countries.
