Test Structure |

The IELTS test consists of four modules: compulsory Listening and Speaking modules and a choice between either General Training or Academic Reading and Writing modules.
The General Training module assesses a broad range of language skills and is suited to candidates wanting to take work-related training courses, enter secondary school, work in an English-speaking country or apply for permanent residency.
The Academic modules assess a candidate's ability to use the language skills needed to study a course in English, including skills required to follow complex arguments, discuss abstract ideas and concepts, and deal with information effectively.
RMIT English Worldwide holds the test in a single day. The Listening, Reading and Writing parts of the test are completed between 9am and 12noon and the Speaking interviews are held between 1pm and 4pm on the same day. The written parts of the tests are usually conducted in small rooms, which provide a comfortable environment for candidates.
